Differently, Thailand's populace is all the more equally spread with a dispersion of 117 people for each km2. Japan is a Progressively Developed nation (M.D.C) with a GNP for every capita of US$34 500, which makes it Asia most well-off nation. The Pacific Ocean, Sea of Japan, Korea Waterway and the East China Sea encompass the Japanese archipelago. Thailand's expands 2500km from North 50 30I to 210 and 1250km from East 970 3I to 1030 3I. The most southern land stretches out down the Malayan landmass and fringes with Malaysia. Power of Knowledge Essays -- Education

The Power of Knowledge Information is power. Data is freeing. Instruction is the reason of each progress. This statement from Kofi Annan, a negotiator of Ghana engaged with the United Nations, legitimately associates with a general subject found in Up from Slavery by Booker T. Washington. This self-portrayal plainly delineates hardships that stood up to Washington, yet not one of them is ever noted as anything short of a learning experience. Washington's energy for learning empowered him to outperform limits apparent by the individuals who permitted themselves to just become casualties of their conditions. He took a gander at the battles that confronted him as chances to turn into a more grounded and progressively certain individual. Achievement didn't come effectively for this man, yet through a progression of occasions and snags he had the option to make a triumph all his own. Having instruction that is facilitated by tutoring is significant, yet Washington's life is evidence that the intensity of inform ation can likewise be prominently achieved through making the most out of life and all that it brings to the table, fortunate or unfortunate. Booker T. Washington's perspectives on training edify perspectives encompassing the questionable subject of setting a higher incentive on instruction or experience. As the present society vigorously centers around tutoring, recall that lives are not exclusively founded on that viewpoint. A blend of both training and experience are important to accomplish the most significant level of progress. Training is a decent establishment, yet without experience limits are put on how much an individual can accomplish. In like manner, without the establishment of instruction a real existence loaded with encounters can be temperamental. A typical accord still can't seem to be settled upon for this progressing banter about whether educa... ...s as a demonstration of how vital both tutoring and experience are. With an equalization of the two, he could best shape all that he knew and all that he had into usable material that would best profit his life. Works Cited Baym, Nina, Wayne Franklin, Philip F. Current generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and auditing standards require that the financial statements of an entity show the following for the reporting period: financial position at the end of the period (balance sheet), earnings for the period (income statement), cash flows during the period (statement of cash flows), and investments by and distributions to owners during the period (statement of changes in owners equity) (Marshall, McManus, Viele). A central concept is the accounting equation, in which assets equals liabilities plus owners equity, which is presented on the balance sheet. Basic principles in recording transactions (which provide the basis for preparing the income statement) are revenue recognition, which occurs at the time of a sale, and the matching princi ple, whereby the revenue is matched to any corresponding expense that was incurred to produce the revenue. Franz Schubert (1797-1828) was born In Vienna, the son of a schoolmaster. Unlike other popular musicians of the time, he wasnt very popular and known. He was the first Viennese composer whose income came from musical composition only. l have come into the world for no other purpose but to compose, once he told this to his friend. Schubert wrote over 600 songs. The Reeling, a musical setting of narrative ballad of the super-natural by Goethe, is one of the earliest and finest examples of musical romanticism composed by Schubert. Robert Schumann (1810-1856) was born in Chukka, Germany. His father was a Kessler, from whom he acquired a love of literature and wrote poetry. In many ways he embodied musical romanticism. His works are Intensely autobiographical. l am affected by everything that goes on In the world-politics, literature, people-I think It over In my own way, and then I long to express my feelings In music. One of his fingers was permanently crippled. Carnival Is one of his popular compositions that has a cycle of twenty-one brief pieces. And a French father. He was called a poet of piano because he wrote almost exclusively for the piano. When Chopin was about twenty, he composed his popular Nocturne in E Flat Major, Pop. , No. 2. It is a melancholic, slow, lyrical, intimate composition for piano. An outstanding pacesetter named Franz List was born in Hungary. His father was an administrator for the same Strachey family that Hayden had served. He was very DOD looking man.During sass he performed superhuman feats at the piano and overwhelmed the European musical public. Brahms said, Whoever has not heard List cannot speak of piano playing. His composition called Transcendental Statues No. 10 in F Minor is one of the virtuoso pieces of the romantic era. Hector Burlier (1803-1869) was one of the first French romantic composers and a raring creator of new orchestral sounds. He was born in a small town near Greenbelt. His music sounds unique. It includes abrupt contrasts between high woodwinds and low strings, snarling brass, and rumbling percussion. The dynamics fluctuate continually, and the tempo changes many times. One of his great compositions is called Symphonies fantastical. Peter Lacily Tchaikovsky (1840-1893), the most famous Russian composer, came from a small town of Bodkins, where his father was a mining inspector. Tchaikovsky seemed to have married only to conceal his homosexuality. Eventually, he separated from his wife and never saw her again. All of his music contains beautiful melodies that stretch and leap widely, like dancers. One of his greatest works is Romeo and Elite, Overture-Fantasy (1869). To conclude, with all the respect to those great musicians of this time, Italian Opera Verdi and German Opera Wagner are the most important ones. Italian opera was very popular, and its main emphasizes was on the music rather than the Norms. On the other hand, Wagner was the one whose works revolutionary. Unlike Italian Opera, he gave more importance to the words rather than music. His compositions were dramatic with continuous texture and huge orchestra.

Thoreaus Art of Living In Thoreaus Walden Essay Example For Students

Thoreaus Art of Living In Thoreaus Walden Essay Thoreaus Art of Living In Thoreaus Walden, he explores the art of living by presenting a dichotomy of sojourning in nature. The life of participating with nature considers living simply and wisely while cooperating with both its lowest and highest elements. Thoreau calls for a change in life by changing the conventional ideas of standard societal views and its participation with the torpor of the material mass. Throughout Walden, Thoreau delves into his surroundings, the very specifics of nature while trying to live the ideal life. Perhaps the main theme and overbearing concept that Thoreau wishes to convey to the reader both in the conclusion and throughout Walden, is that we must recognize the great power and potential for new discovery and enjoyment in our minds. Thus, Thoreau calls for an ideological revolution to simplification in our lives and conveys a paradoxical view that the highest point of living is the leading of a simple life of a balance between change and solitude. This life is the art of activity within the art of structural living- a non-instrumental way of enhancing ones life through spiritual development and the cultivation of the mind and body. We will write a custom essay on Thoreaus Art of Living In Thoreaus Walden specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now The purpose for this enhancement is fostering the spirit in its progress and not marred by material products or social structures. The spirit involves activity with nature and must not be hindered by material necessities Kim 2 demanded by society. Such progress is change within oneself, within ones mind and soul and ultimately achieved through self-recognition. It is the recognizing of the self that leads to individualized experiences. This art requires pure devotion of the individual and the divorce from the boundaries of business and time. In doing so, the individual experiences a transcended self, a elevated piety and perennial youth 211. Thoreau compares the art of and active life to one of unending youthfulness. He pervades the importance of the youth as innocent and pure. Such life must not be tainted by obscurities and the mundane routine of the city life but rather emerged, submerged in the purest form of existence-nature. Thoreau equates the outdoors natural stimuli with innocence when he states that every child begins the world again, to some extent, and loves to stay outdoors 17. Thoreau mirrors youthfulness to nature in order to convey a need of constant rebirth into purity and innocence that leads to a love of the earth. Thoreau provides an example of a life embracing youthfulness and the active search for change and perfectio n. The story of the man from Kouroo is a compelling anecdote for how humans can transcend time and reduce it to the simple illusion that it is. This passage and the story of the man as a whole can be taken as a metaphor that Thoreau is showing us, one which we can apply to our own lives. The art does notcompromise with time or with others opinions 211. The artist of Kouroo continuously searches for the perfect stick to make a staff  until he finds that stick. He ignores even his friends dissuasions and desertions and perseveres his pursuit to Kim 3 obtain that which will bring purity. Thoreau states, Let us settle ourselves and work and wedge our feet downward through the mud and slush of opinion, and prejudice, and tradition, and delusion, and appearance 63. The metaphor that Thoreau gives of the swamp with the hard bottom serves to show how people can drown and sink in the bog of society. However, to settle is to unsettle oneself from the conventions and ground feet downward in order to transcend. Although he searches for a simple element à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å" a stick- the process, the art of living is continual, complex and endearing. .u07ca0794e64356ed7e56ca9c870fdd9a , .u07ca0794e64356ed7e56ca9c870fdd9a .postImageUrl , .u07ca0794e64356ed7e56ca9c870fdd9a .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u07ca0794e64356ed7e56ca9c870fdd9a , .u07ca0794e64356ed7e56ca9c870fdd9a:hover , .u07ca0794e64356ed7e56ca9c870fdd9a:visited , .u07ca0794e64356ed7e56ca9c870fdd9a:active { border:0!important; } .u07ca0794e64356ed7e56ca9c870fdd9a .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u07ca0794e64356ed7e56ca9c870fdd9a { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u07ca0794e64356ed7e56ca9c870fdd9a:active , .u07ca0794e64356ed7e56ca9c870fdd9a:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u07ca0794e64356ed7e56ca9c870fdd9a .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u07ca0794e64356ed7e56ca9c870fdd9a .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u07ca0794e64356ed7e56ca9c870fdd9a .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u07ca0794e64356ed7e56ca9c870fdd9a .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u07ca0794e64356ed7e56ca9c870fdd9a:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u07ca0794e64356ed7e56ca9c870fdd9a .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u07ca0794e64356ed7e56ca9c870fdd9a .u07ca0794e64356ed7e56ca9c870fdd9a-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u07ca0794e64356ed7e56ca9c870fdd9a:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Great Expectations By Charles Dickens Essay ThesisIt is his singleness of purpose and love for the activity that brings him a pure art and youthfulness. The active life Associated with the art of living reveals living ones life engaging and searching nature without worrying of limitations. The search of perfection results in a perfect art so unimpeded by external events. The artist uses pure materials of nature that are not tainted by the materialistic focus of the world. By employing these pure elements, the true artist of life brings a new system to take the place of old aged societies and brings forth a world with full and fair proportions 211. This new world constructe d by innocence and purified nature does not age or dies but rather transcends beyond the torpor and mundane life. Thoreau continues to argue that living requires loving and meeting life. He calls the reader to change and cultivate ones life by turning the old, as one would do with soil. The constant turning brings forth change of ones life and mind towards activity. Thoreau rejects mechanical aids that cloud the consciousness and blinds one of achieving the purified art of living. He attacks the external stimuli such as drugs Kim 4 and habits as well as the gross necessaries of life that only temporarily satisfies the body and impurifies rather than purifies 7. Even in ones poverty, Thoreau suggests that you are but confined to the most significant and vital experience à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å" a life compelled to deal with nature and its elements. It is the love to weigh, to settle, to gravitate 211 life that produces a life not the search for luxury which enervates and destroys nations 9. Thoreau prefers a simplistic life resembling poverty and detachment from the dependency of luxury and the massive aspirations for particular things. The severance from worldly commodities will bring forth alife of simplicity, independence, magnanimity, and trust 9. The simple and wise life that Thoreau calls upon is complex yet he is convinced by faith and experience that to maintain ones self on this earth is not hardship but a pastime 46. The simple and wise life requires one to be alert, awake, and to be reawakened and continuously awake 59. This reveals Thoreaus love of American visionary moral aesthetics and the encouraging  fact of the need for man to elevate h8is life by a conscious endeavor 59. It is the independent fervor and active participation of ones soul to affect the quality of the day which results in the highest of the arts59. The pursuit for intensity within simplistic ways of life apart from material stimulants brings forth a natural elevation through a conscious rational effort. The self is the natural medium requiring the meticulous efforts to increase and transcend ones spirit to a pure art form similar to nature. Kim 5 Thoreau also argues the possibilities of such a life by which we can engage andmorally we can do 59. Thoreau adheres to the tradition of a thrift way of life according to the Puritan work ethic. He embraces certain elements of the religiosity in doing- the fervency of participating in ones task. Thoreau participates in the day and of the days natural repetitiveness, different from the mundane life. It is by our own spirits that we are deified when we become purified and wedded to the day. Thoreau compares himself to the day when he states that morning is when I am awake and there is a dawn in me 58. By describing the nature around him, Thoreau grips the life by living the deliberate and fronting only the essential facts 59. Such facts arise from nature and living is the experience one has while dealing with the earth and the atmosphere. The facts are natural truths waiting to be practiced and searched for. Thus each man is given a task to experience the quality rather than quantity of the day. Every man is tasked to make his life, even in its details, worthy of the contemplation of his most elevated and critical hour59. Thoreau conveys living as a simple task, although the process and experience of living is undermined. To live is to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life which is hardly a simple task 59. The essential elements embedded in life need to be searched and sucked out. Thoreau calls for living deep, and taking all that life has to bring even sucking all the marrow of life that brings youthfulness. .uda00dff86b7eb7032b0238bd71dc19f0 , .uda00dff86b7eb7032b0238bd71dc19f0 .postImageUrl , .uda00dff86b7eb7032b0238bd71dc19f0 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .uda00dff86b7eb7032b0238bd71dc19f0 , .uda00dff86b7eb7032b0238bd71dc19f0:hover , .uda00dff86b7eb7032b0238bd71dc19f0:visited , .uda00dff86b7eb7032b0238bd71dc19f0:active { border:0!important; } .uda00dff86b7eb7032b0238bd71dc19f0 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .uda00dff86b7eb7032b0238bd71dc19f0 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .uda00dff86b7eb7032b0238bd71dc19f0:active , .uda00dff86b7eb7032b0238bd71dc19f0:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .uda00dff86b7eb7032b0238bd71dc19f0 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .uda00dff86b7eb7032b0238bd71dc19f0 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .uda00dff86b7eb7032b0238bd71dc19f0 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .uda00dff86b7eb7032b0238bd71dc19f0 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .uda00dff86b7eb7032b0238bd71dc19f0:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .uda00dff86b7eb7032b0238bd71dc19f0 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .uda00dff86b7eb7032b0238bd71dc19f0 .uda00dff86b7eb7032b0238bd71dc19f0-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .uda00dff86b7eb7032b0238bd71dc19f0:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Blithe Spirit By Noel Coward EssayKim 6 This action must be done individually and by ones own efforts and exertions in order to experience the art of living. Thoreaus emphasis on solitude and independence conveys the notion that one should become detached from the worldly unfruitful life for one to become lost to oneself in order to find his soul. The importance placed on the individuals act of living reveals the dependency that one has to nature. Thoreau suggests a life matching and synergetic with nature while learning to absolve and bless oneself with nature. By losing oneself to nature and shedding detail, ones lenses of perception of life becomes purified and faced with truth. He also hints at an issue much deeper than just whether what one says is true or not. Thoreau deals with not only  truth or falsity, but with the dichotomy between real value and superficial pedantry. The art of living is working the land with ones hands, to labor enough to subdue and cultivate a few cubic feet of flesh 2. The imagery of land is paralleled to flesh, thus producing an image of harmony and a natural state. Thoreau mirrors the natural human to nature herself. By aligning oneself to nature, one can elevate his soul by coming face to face with fact 64 and overcoming the end to a mortal career with evident truth. When Thoreau states that the surface of the earth is soft and impressible by the feet of men; and so with the paths which the mind travels, he reveals a simile between the soft and impressible surface of the earth and the same ability which the mind has to be soft and receptacle to any new idea. Any new information that it learns is perfect. Although Thoreau does not directly describe the surface of the earth being Kim 7 in any particular woods, in the line after the semicolon he refers to thepaths which the mind travels. He refers this statement to the brain and in the larger sense the soul with the earlier image of the soft and impressible surface. Likewise, in order for one to practice the art of living one must have dreams and ultimate goals that are high and lofty as he endeavors to such great heights. Thoreau continues to bombard the reader with an onslaught of statements that encourage us to continue our study of the self as if every day is new day. The art of living comes only to those who are alive and cognizant enough to receive what change, purity and truth nature offers. The truth stands prevalent and shining as it purges ones soul to become pure and cleansed like nature. Thus Thoreau seduces the reader into the possibility of change within oneself and a catharsis from ones dependency on the unnecessary aspects of life and the limits. The art of living involves living an active, simple and natural truth, with nature, while absorbing the pragmatic elements of vital pureness by continuously adhering to ones simple, wise, and invigorating rituals of transcendence.

Independent Study for November 7 - Essay Example The significance of this poem is that Turner has removed the blame to the terrorists who fire the gun but instead, he blames the gun by making it responsible through personification. Yusef Komunyakaa’s poem â€Å"Facing It† is another military poem about a painful experience suffered by a Vietnam War veteran when he visited a Vietnam veteran Memorial. Komunyakaa uses the first person to create a symbolic setting of the memorial sculptures by drawing its physical properties. His descriptions create a ghostly reflection of the settings which has been clogged by his military experiences. The poem shows that the many survivors of the war come to a dead end upon visiting a memorial site. The military people are also taken to be unable to experience the present or the future without interference from the memories of the war. As such, they keep on grieving even when safe from the war. â€Å"The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner† by Randall Jarrell is a short poem which is filled with condensed brevity and shocking violence. This gives the poem a rather immediate and durable impact to the readers. This is partly due to the tittle of the poem depicting that it is written from the poem of view of the dead gunner. Jarrell paints an uncomfortable picture about his sympathetic situation by precise choice of diction. The gunner seems like a small child who has lost the comfort of his biological mother to land into the hand of the state. By alluring to paradox of ‘birth† and â€Å"death†, he is able to present the trauma undergone by gunners. â€Å"Dulce et Decorum Est† by Wilfred Owen is a poem which describes the general conditions of the military in war especially when attacked and presents the effects of such an experience through the eyes of a person who has lived through the experience. The government had close relationship with Barracannia that later made it to be independent that contributed to critical and challenging attitude towards the role of foreign interest. The story of Road to Hell tries to evaluate peoples views towards issues related to racism in modern days. Issues related to racism is not easy to be solved using legalistic approaches, therefore, it requires deeper research and understanding to give pure proves that the human discrimination in relation to sex, skin color, origin has brought some major issues within a community, organization and even the societies. The story tries to explain how people from different cultures and backgrounds do not always take issues of diversity into consideration. Majority estimates each other by their own scales and perceptions that always lead to conflicts due to misunderstanding. According to the story, Baker appears to be a racist. However, people need to be educated on human right to be sensitive enough to have the feeling and immediate support should be provided to the victims by listening their views carefully and respect them. The main cause of racial discrimination has led to cross cultural misinterpretation that occurs when a person gives meaning to observation and their relationship (Adler 8). Summary of a reading - Outline Example e1930s, the scars of World War II, and presence of unscrupulous players in the market coupled with legal restrictions kept the general public away from the stock market in the 1950s. A.D.Roy’s paper titled â€Å"Safety First and the Holding of Assets† published three months after Markowitz’s paper appeared in the Journal of Finance, discussed the same lines of arguments, but did not evoke any response. After earning his undergraduate degree in economics, Markowitz continued his graduate work while serving as a Research Associate at the Cowles Commission. He chose stock market as the subject of his doctoral dissertation in consultation with Jacob Marschak (director of Cowles Commission) and Marshall Ketchum (Dean of the Graduate School of Business). The Theory of Investment Value by John Burr Williams fascinated him, but it struck him that people should consider risk as well as return while making investment decisions. So he applied Tjalling Koopmans’ (Prof. of Economics at Chicago University) linear programming technique for solving problems of resource allocation under constraints, to analyze the choices facing an investor who must decide between seeking high returns and attempting to hold down risk at the same time. Diversification protects the investor from losing everything in one swoop. At the same time it reduces the opportunity of earning high returns by concentrating investment in one stock which appears to be the best. Markowitz followed the idea of the tension between risk and return and between diversification and concentration down two separate tracks. The first track, the subject of his 1952 article, tells the investor how to apply the trade off between risk and reward in selecting a portfolio, by applying Koopmans’ linear programming. The second track tells how each investor should go about selecting the single portfolio that most closely conforms to the investor’s goals. This aspect is treated at length in Markowitz’s book, Portfolio

Rudy, through the course of his entire life, had been told by everyone that chasing his dream of playing Notre Dame football would only cause him heartache. Despite all hindrances, Rudy, played by Sean Astin, accomplished his dream, and is to this day the last Notre Dame football player to be carried off the field. The reoccurring them in the movie is to be persistent in chasing your dreams and overcome all obstacles and criticism you may encounter along the way. Evident throughout the entire movie is how the desire in Rudy’s heart helped him to overcome any physical abilities he lacked. This is clearly shown through Coach Parseghian’s having said to another player, "If you had only a tenth of the heart of Rudiger, you could have been All-American" (Coach Parseghian). Rudy was not blessed with the physical abilities of other players, but rather with the heart to continually persist in achieving his dream of playing Notre Dame football. Rudy’s heart and desire probably got him farther in the game of football than he would have got had he been more athletically gifted. Also lending sup...

Life without IT

Dad, you always say, â€Å"Ah†¦back then when I was a lil' boy†¦there were no computers, cell phones or video games. Tsk! You young lads have all of 'em now, eh? We kids back then had to send letters, had to listen for our mothers' call to have dinner, and we were fit and healthy as a horse! Humph! You just don't know how much fun you are missin'†¦Ã¢â‚¬ My, my, here we go again. What did I say about those â€Å"when I was a lil' boy† stories! Come on dad! You're so old school! Seriously dad, how can you possibly live without information technology? Now it's considered a basic necessity to have emails and websites, and be able to call, text and access anyone and anything at all times. Imagine how desperate you would be if you deliberately left the house without any technologies at hand. Just for one good day†¦I bet you'll probably cry for help. Okay, okay. That might be bit of exaggerating, but still, you'll be desperate; trust me. Computers, cell phones (well, not to mention video games) replaced life as we knew it. Is there any turning back? No way! They've already claimed the entire generation. Dating back to the 1450s, why did Johann Gutenburg invent the movable metal printing process? Well, to start the Printing Evolution and make printing books a hit! Why did Alexander Graham Bell invent the telephone? Obviously, to make it much easier for us to communicate with each other over long distances! All of the technologies we see and use today are crucial to us. Without them, I know that our lives would be simpler but what about â€Å"One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind†? Dad, I'm not trying to criticize for thinking that your childhood or whatsoever is the best. I agree that life can also be superb if there were no advanced technologies. But since we live in the â€Å"Information Age†, information technology has become a part of our everyday lives, and we must admit that it really improves our quality of living. We must live our lives with information technology and accept new things or we'll be cavemen. So dad, how do you like your i-Pad I bought for you? Cool, eh? See? I told you so; you JUST can't ignore and resist the new generation of I.T.!

WISDOM Amanda Powell Positive Psychology Miles Castle 11/23/13 The attributes that are commonly associated with being a wise person would consist of being Sagacity, Being able to learn from ideas, and environments, having a good sense of Judgment, being able to retain and learn from the use of information, and Perspicuity. When you put all these together as the book has stated these are attributes that are commonly associated with being a wise person. I have to say though I do not think that all of these are certainly just the cause of determining that someone may be wise. There are many other ways in which a person can be wise, and sometimes a person may have all these attributes but may not be a very wise person. One wise person†¦show more content†¦I have always been one to be careful and watch what I do and what others do, I am a firm believe that one can only learn from their mistakes, but if I have seen others make mistakes as well I am very good at judging the bad, and learning that I do not need to make their mistake as well. Another attribute in which I think that I have fully developed would be that of sagacity, which is keeping a good understanding of human nature, thoughtfulness, fairness, good listening, etc. I have to say I am a great listener, and I am always taking in consideration of others. I have to say that sometimes I think that I put people ahead of myself. Expeditious, I have good abilities with as well. I think that I retain and learn new information pretty easy from experience, like I had said I like to learn from my mistakes and from others. I have the willpower in which it takes to want to make a change about how I did something in order to make it improved. One attribute in which I think that I have room to be improved though is that of judgment, I am very keen to being able to watch what I do but sometimes I do before I think leading to the mistakes in which I then will learn from. I think that I need to work on being able to retain the information before acting on it. I have a very kind heart and sometimes I think before acting and I think that I need to make sure that I plan more situations out before acting on them.
